Protect Federal Funding for Oral Health Programs – Take action now

Your voice matters.

The Senate Appropriations Committee is preparing to vote on the FY 2026 Labor-HHS appropriations bill, which will determine the future of critical oral health programs. The President’s proposed budget would significantly reduce or eliminate funding for initiatives that expand access to care, strengthen the dental workforce, and advance life-changing research.

Programs at risk include:

  • Health Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA) Title VII Oral Health Training and Residency Programs: Supporting thousands of dental students and professionals each year and delivering care to more than 1 million patients, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
  • HRSA State Oral Health Workforce Grants: Helping more than 30 states develop workforce solutions for underserved communities.
  • National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR): The leading institute for dental and craniofacial research, pioneering the link between oral and overall health.
  • Centers for Disease Control Division of Oral Health: Providing states with evidence-based tools to prevent tooth decay, including community water fluoridation initiatives, as well as set valuable dental practice safety standards.
